Our purpose is to have ongoing basket of trading systems that produce consistent 60%-100% profit per year while maintain Minimal Risk.

We do not make aggressive trades which could ruin our capital. Most of the trading systems that we run are set to 1%-3% risk per trade.

How do we calculate our basket performance ?

When we start our account, we use different Risk Setting for each account, so we need to recalculate it to get overall performance.

First, the return is calculated from closed profit/loss  add with the floating positions. Then we recalculate the results for trading system that use Risk bigger then 1% into Risk=1%. (i.e. if the Risk is 2% then we divide the profit/loss by 2). Then we sum it all. Using Risk=1%, all trading system in our basket should be enough to be put unto 1 account size.
Account size we recommend to put all together (Risk=1%) is $5,000 (standard account) or $1,000 (mini account).

Note:
- To help us identify every trading system performance, we divide it into separate account.
- If you see our detail statement below (for every month), all balance is printed for June 10, 2009 (the time when we generate the report).

Every beginning of month, we report our current basket positions including the ones that new or removed.

What you need to do in the USA (for NFA brokers) as of July 31, 2009:
* Can’t have hedging positions, it means OCO orders ( One cancels the other)
* FIFO (first in first out) system: order that opened first must be closed first.
* Can’t have stop and profit target for order with the same lot-size.

Some broker like FXCM, and Forex.com move to their UK divisions. I myself prefer Alpari UK.

Anyway, I also working with new approach for our Vision trading system (VISION PRO).

The new Vision trading system will enable you to trade in NFA brokers even with those limitation above.
1. Vision do not hedge its positions. (I do not use USDCHF to hedge EURUSD).
2. You can limit open positions to only 3 – 10 positions only (and each position can have different lot-size).
3. Enable to close all positions using first in first out procedure.

I also add equity protection (stoploss control) to prevent further drawdown.
You can set from 5% to 30% drawdown before the system cutloss the open positions.

This is our backtest result from 2006-2009:

At the result above, I backtest using EURUSD (30 minutes chart), with these settings:
1. Risk Setting=10
2. Maximum Positions=20
3. Profit Protection: Not set (not limited)
4. Drawdown Protection: 30% equity cutloss

The result our Vision can generate profit $189,367 from $10,000 deposit.

Then I backtested with more conservative approach:

I backtest using EURUSD (30 minutes chart), with these settings:
1. Risk Setting=10
2. Maximum Positions=10
3. Profit Protection: Set to 10% above balance
4. Drawdown Protection: 5% equity cutloss

The second result produce less return but more reliable to achieve. The new Vision now produce 48,489 profit on $10,000 deposit using cutloss every 5% drawdown.

I really excited with these results. Now our development process is finish, we start our forward test phase.

As soon as I check everything is correct, I will send the EA for you to test it too.

Of course it’s gonna work. But the big question would be, “Is it Profitable Consistently?”

It’s the main challenge and in this articles I would like to show you the possibility of using MetaTrader, whether it’s catastrophe or profitable. After all expert advisor are only tool for trading Forex Market. They are constructed according to a strict set of rules and parameters, and are designed to easily embed into your trading platform to execute trades for you. Most Forex EA’s can be completely automated while others are there to use at your own discretion, it is entirely up to you how you wish to use them and benefit from their distinct features.

As I discuss in previous article, most of the biggest mistakes that make trader lose their money to forex market are “emotions”. Inconsistency is another key factor limiting most traders to make it big in the world of Forex, and the reason is because the majority of traders find it extremely difficult to adhere to their trading plan; in turn costing them a lot of money in crucial situations.

The expert advisor has a trading plan, and because it is a trading robot it will adhere to its plan indefinitely, without being influenced by any outside factors i.e emotions, stresses, tiredness etc. The Expert Advisor watches the market 24 hours a day for you and will execute trades based upon its predefined parameters. Unlike a human, it is also capable of monitoring indicators, support and resistance levels, and many other factors in multiple timeframes and making immediate decisions.

The problem of expert advisor, will be appropriate like Bill Gates quote, “The first rule of any technology used in a business is that automation applied to an efficient operation will magnify the efficiency. The second is that automation applied to an inefficient operation will magnify the inefficiency.” Without proper trading plan, you will only get the result that you don’t want to wake up with.

There are some things that you should consider when choosing EA. The foremost basic things are:

1. Look for the contact details, make sure the seller has an email address and don’t hesitate to contact the seller about any queries you have on their products. If the seller is fully legit they won’t hesitate to answer any questions and even elaborate on their trading systems without pushing for a sale.

2. Look for Live Forward test statements. If the seller thinks his system is profitable then they should obviously be using it to trade with there own money right? And they shouldn’t have any problems in showing you the actual results of their trades. Forward test results are conducted with real money in live market conditions; it will show you how the system will work in real environment. Never and ever purchase any expert advisor that doesn’t provide live forward test statements.

3. The last but not least, make sure you understand how the EA work and see if it’s suitable to your trading style and if it has good money management and risk management. Don’t go out and buy the first expert advisor you see, shop around and make comparisons, contact the sellers and get all your questions answered before you make any final decisions.

It ain’t easy looking the profitable EA, only time can tell whether the EA is profitable or not. That’s why you can guidelines above to filter out how to find profitable EA.

Vision EA working almost the same logic as PB or DTS1; which the EA need sufficient margin to sustain a temporary drawdown before the EA repair it’s positions and close all positions with profits.

VISION Build 906 (under development)

I realize that our Vision has correlation problem between EURUSD and USDCHF in Build905.

We also have another disadvantage like volatility and pips value USDCHF is different with EURUSD. So I want create new approach at Vision build 906, I try to minimize the Pyramiding style and add a different trading style. I also add EURCHF to compensate the difference between EURUSD and USDCHF.

Friday, June 12 update: Euro still in choppy area and our drawdown still growing up. The problem is USDCHF can’t hedge EURUSD perfectly like our PointBreak EA. I still working with build 906.

Friday, June 5 update: We are so unfortunate with Vision so near to close our positions suddenly EurUsd drop so fast with US NFP report.

We are testing Vision 905 now. We do not implemented cut loss in version 905.
The next release will be Vision 906 which include additional parameter and filter to avoid bad markets and cut-loss false positions.

We use the following settings for our forward account:

• Positions_Distance=3
• Multiply_Lot_USDCHF=0.0
• Take_Profit=10
• Close_All_When_Profit=FALSE
  (I want to test our new closing procedure using T/P function)
• Use_Keltner_Channel=FALSE (a little bit aggressive)
• Risk=1
• SP_Distance=100

I test Vision EA using Keltner_Channel = false which is an aggressive trade. This cause the ea always enter the market any time and very easy to go into drawdown at sideways market.

But anyway we need to test that EA can solve from bad to worst market conditions
I hope the drawdown never exceed -30% before the ea close all positions with profit again.

I receive a suggestions from one of my mailing list that suggest I also add time filter (like filter on trading hours).  I think it’s worth to consider.

In our forward account we use IBFX broker and 5 digit account.
We tested Vision EA behaves differently in the MSP procedure between 4 digits account and 5 digits accounts.
I think it’s because at one same time the indicators produce different values between 4 digits account and 5 digits account.

How to attach Vision EA on your MT4 platform:

1. Open EURUSD chart M30 Period.

2. Find Vision expert advisors at your MT4 platform expert advisors section.

3. Attach Vision EA on EURUSD chart M30 Period only.

4. No need to attach Vision EA on USDCHF chart.
Vision EA will automatically open and manage positions for both pairs (EURUSD and USDCHF).

How Vision can closed our PB/DTS1 positions:

Click the picture above to enlarge it. Take a look how Vision finally closed one of our client’s PB/DTS1 positions that has been locked by IBFX brokers due to new hedging rule. First, on May 28 the EA close several short positions when the EA detect EUR/USD still going up until the short positions is 40% from long positions. Then the EA wait EUR/USD continue going up before the EA close the drawdown with profits (June 2).

Vision Error check:

1. Our Vision new member area (under Get Vision EA) requires NEW PASSWORD.
You need to obtain the password first. Use Forgot Password function.

3. Make sure you upgrade your MT4 platform to the newest version (build 224 and above).

4. After downloaded the Vision installation program, make sure you install it in the correct directory.
After the installation, your Vision EA should be in /expert directory, otherwise your installation is incorrect.
You need to reinstall it.

5. If your Vision still can not work:
- Do not open your MT4 from your desktop.
- Try to open the MT4 from your Windows Explorer until you find MT4 exe file. Then open your MT4 from Window Explorer with Vision attach into its chart.

Our current Vision EA is not a final product, in the following weeks we will add more features.

So it’s important to test our first release of Vision EA using demo account first.
